Default Spirit bond + protective spirit = gimmick?

I tested the spirit bond + protective spirit build, and yeah it works, you don't die as quickly from degen as if you're a 55 since you can have as high health as you want, but all in all it didn't seem any better (or worse) than my 55.

Is the sb+ps build just a gimmick, or am I missing some crucial advantage over 55's?

It requires less specific equipment, it requires no healing prayers at all, casts faster than breeze, and can tank as many mobs as you can get hitting you, provided that they deal more than 60 damage before Prot Spirit.

As long as the damage is consistantly triggering SB, I like the SB/PS build better.

55 Health is useful for every place (even lower level places), though PS/PB is better for all high level places (UW, Droknar's Forge Trolls etc.).

Spirit Bond and PS have more flexibility, as: 55/ss-sv'ers are not able to get past the Obsidian Behemots in UW. A modified spirit bond build can.

As for 55, it leaves no room for error, 1 hit and ure dead, with Spirit Bond u have room for errors, when something gets interupted dont worry u have time to recast it before ure dead .

I prefer Spirit Bond over 55 hp in UW cuz u dont need to drain the smites first with our build and they cant smite some hex of .

Too bad I deleted pre-sear AL 5 armor set.

Would allow to farm some other places.

Depending on the spawn, the fierce can pretty much block the door to the forge trolls. Their preps do less than 60 damage a go, I think, although I die too fast to tell really what's going on. You can get past them most of the time with a good speed boost, but on very select occasions (rarely) they're clumped so tight they nail me before I even have a chance. I figure armor switching would probably solve this, but it happens too rarely and I'm too lazy to try.

The sb+ps is very very cheap to do. You need a minimal amount of stuff in prot, energy management (balth spirit and/or essence bond), pick a good spot and that's it...you're invincible. You can pretty much start farming at any level.

The Fierce only deal less then 60 damage if you have good Armor, but with some weak armor, they'll deal enough damage (I recommend the Sheperd's set with 15 Armor from the first Canthan crafters).

erm...no they hit me while nude and did less than 60. The arrows aren't the main problem, it seems the prep is the issue.

ahaha yeah, pre-searing / starter armor is priceless until they change something about this build.

Also with this build you can run the holy wrath smiter which is a leetly simple build compared to SS

Oh and also I think there is some kinda bad coding when it comes to nude versus low lvl armor. Because I was nude trying to farm darkroot and he was hittin me for 20s... (not from prot spirit I have 455 life). Damn assassin mobs..

There also seems to be a bug with this skill that the new quest for the dragon festival doesn't activate it...I know they hit hard enough but it just never gets activated.

Not even the fact this thread was necroraised by the above poster shall stop me from educating you!

Behemoths are very easy to clear with 55 + SS, interrupt springs, tank them... its not exactly rocket science

You don't need long enchants, drop Blessed Aura, maintain Baltha Spirit and Mending (0 regen). Then stand there and tank, you take more than enough hits (esp with bonetti up, but not needed) to keep prot spirit going.

Necro moves in, places SS. The monk learns HS pattern and interrupts all the behemoths.

For your information, 3-man can clear UW, so I'm not sure of the point of your comment...
